You can choose between eating in our Waterside Restaurant, our Cairn O' Mount bar or for those extra special occasions we have a Private Dining option available in our Buddon Burn suite. In the Waterside restaurant and Cairn O' Mount bar we offer breakfast, lunch, supper club, dinner, teas, coffees and drinks.
The Waterside restaurant is a beautiful space with a glass front looking out onto the fishing lochans and resort grounds. It is a truly original dining experience where guests can watch the fishermen cast as they enjoy some of our local sourced and home-grown produce. The Buddon burn runs under our Waterside restaurant and at night our LED fountain can be seen in the centre of our Woodside fishing pool, adding to the distinctive dining feel. We also have a small Kingennie Kids Corner with chalkboard walls to keep children entertained.
Cairn O' Mount Bar
Our Cairn O' Mount bar offers a warm welcome from our blazing fire in a wonderful and rustic countryside setting, where the inside of the bar compliments the outside Scottish rural location. The bar blends traditional countryside pub comfort with quirky and contemporary design to create a residual feel, perfect for a bite to eat, a dram or even just a coffee to warm up. There is an impressive free standing central wood burning stove, comfy Chesterfield leather booth seating, bespoke lampshades that feature maps of the local area made by Love Lampshades in Stirling, and curtains and chairs featuring Harris tweed made by Donald John MacKay, who also supplies to Nike, Ralph Lauren and Chanel - all from a modest tin shed behind his house on the Isle of Harris. Stone from Denfined Stone in Monikie, feature windows and a concertina door from Esk Glazing, fireplaces from Taymouth Fireplace, and a wine rack made out of silver birch logs from Lamin8, also in Monikie, are just some of the locally supplied highlights to our Cairn O'Mount bar. With Sky TV and Wi-Fi it is a great place to relax and catch up with what's happening in the world. It is also home to our Kingennie Golf Club plaques, displaying the winners of our golf competitions which are; The Geordie Jack, The Alexander James, The Kingennie Club Scratch Champion, The Cairngorms Putting, The Slains Park- mixed foursomes winner, The Omachie Pairs, The Cape- men's handicap and The Elizabeth Inglis - ladies handicap. The Cairn O' Mount bar is named after Mike Forbes's favourite Cairn O' Mount crossing, a high mountain pass linking Fettercairn to Banchory with captivating views over the Angus land, which is home to the resort and the Forbes family.
