Our response to COVID-19

The safety and wellbeing of our team and guests is always our highest priority. With that in mind, we have been busy behind the scenes putting together new procedures and processes to protect everyone against COVID-19.  We hope that our high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, along with our new procedures around protecting you and our team from COVID-19, establish your trust and confidence and allow you to enjoy your time at the resort.

Below we have created an overview of our new procedures, so you can rest assured in the knowledge that we are there for you.

Current COVID Protection Level in Angus: 3

As per the most recent government announcement we are now in Level 3 of the government's COVID protection levels as an business in Angus.

This means:

Hospitality Guidelines Tier 3

We are open indoors and outdoors for the consumption of food and non alcoholic drinks. Alcoholic drinks cannot be served. Last entry is 17:00 and all venues must be closed and all customers off the premises by 18:00.

The maximum number of people you can meet indoors and outdoors in the restaurant or bar is 6 which can be from up to 2 separate households.

Children under the age of 12 from these households do not count towards the total number of people meeting.

Where an individual household includes more than 6 people they can continue to meet as a household in hospitality premises, although the venue may impose a smaller group limit.

Table service and the wearing of face-coverings (unless exempt) when not seated by all customers is mandatory in all hospitality venues. When meeting people from more than one other household, you should think beforehand about what size of table you will need to keep physically distanced between members of your group. The venue you are visiting should be able to advise you of booking options.

You will be asked by to provide your contact details for Test and Protect purposes. This information is retained for 21 days with a view to sharing with Test and Protect Teams, if required.

We have hand sanitiser stations as well as a one way system in operation. We are a 1m social distancing area.

You should avoid visiting multiple hospitality premises on the same day. In particular, do not visit more than one pub or bar on the same day, as this increases the risk of transmission.

Holiday Accommodation Tier 3

All holiday accommodation (Hotels, B&Bs, self-catering, caravan and camping sites) can stay open in line with sector guidance for tourism and hospitality. However, tourists should not travel into, or out off, a Level 3 area for holidays or visits. Exceptions for essentials travel includes those who must travel for work, education, health or for those attending weddings or funerals which requires an overnight stay.

Those living in a Level 3 area can still use holiday accommodation in their area but should not stay in the same self-catered accommodation with another household.

You can meet in a group of up to 6 people from up to 2 households indoors in a public setting in your holiday accommodation. You should not meet indoors in your bedroom or self-catered accommodation.

Golf Tier 3

We have received further COVID-19 Guidance for Golf Clubs and Golfers from Scottish Golf, including this summary sheet, which details activities allowed at different levels. At present Kingennie Golf Club sits in a Level 3 Restriction Zone.

We ask all of our members and visitors to read over it and ensure that they are adhering to the guidance given.

Below is a summary of the travel guidance given to different levels:

  • In Level 4, you are not permitted to drive outside your Local Authority area for exercise.
  • In LEVEL 3 - You can travel anywhere within your local authority area to take part in sport. You may cross a local authority boundary by up to 5 miles if necessary, this includes where a golf course straddles two local authority areas. You can currently travel up to 5 miles into another local authority for sport      where this is absolutely necessary, and you cannot access the sport otherwise.
  • In Levels 0-2 - Adults should, where possible, minimise unnecessary travel between areas and not      travel to a Level 3 or 4. You should avoid sharing a vehicle with people who are not members of your household or extended household.

We understand that these new restrictions are difficult, but it remains our shared responsibility to prioritise the health of our local communities by working together to follow the Government guidelines.

Please do not visit the resort if you have any symptoms of COVID 19, e.g. a dry cough, raised temperature, loss of taste or smell, you are feeling short of breath, or if any of your household has any of the above symptoms, or if you have been otherwise advised to self-isolate.

Fishing Tier 3

The travel restrictions outlined by the Scottish Government should always be adhered to, and with effect 1800hrs on Fiday 20th November these become legally enforceable.  While there are slightly different rules governing travel depending on the Level is in the area where you are, we are still strongly encouraging individuals to only travel as far as is necessary to participate in angling competitions and not to cross Local Authority Boundaries in order to do so.  Up to date guidance is available at  Staying Safe and Protecting Others: Travel.
