Our response to COVID-19
The safety and wellbeing of our team and guests is always our highest priority. With that in mind, we have been busy behind the scenes putting together new procedures and processes to protect everyone against COVID-19. We hope that our high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, along with our new procedures around protecting you and our team from COVID-19, establish your trust and confidence and allow you to enjoy your time at the resort.
Below we have created an overview of our new procedures, so you can rest assured in the knowledge that we are there for you.
Current COVID Protection Level in Angus: 0
As per the most recent government announcement we are now in Level 0 of the government's COVID protection levels as a business in Angus.
To find out what this means for please visit the Government Website. We ask all guests to make sure that they are following the rules.
Golf Procedures
- Please read the current Golf Covid Guidance here and ensure you are following it.
- All members must book their tee times through the Scottish Golf system or by calling the Sports shop on 01382 350777. Members can access the Scottish Golf booking system via the resort website (www.forbesofkingennie.co.uk) or by downloading the App in your App Store.
- We kindly request that you wait until your exact tee time prior to commencing play.
- We would request members to be considerate when booking tee times and not book more tee times than they require.
- We ask all members and guests to arrive at the resort no more than 10-15 minutes before their tee time. Please maintain social distancing in the car park.
- One golfer from each tee time must check in at the Sports shop.
- Only one person is permitted in the Sports Shop at any one time, and we ask that those waiting outside please follow social distancing guidelines of remaining one metre apart at all times.
- We will have facilities for contactless payments, although cash will also be accepted.
- We have a Perspex screen fitted over the counter.
- If there is a queue, please do not linger around the shop.
- All course furniture has been removed – rakes, seats, ball washers etc. Flag–sticks must not be removed from the hole, the drop has been shortened to allow for easier retrieval of ball.
- Only pick your own ball up
- Do not share any equipment, such as golf clubs or range-finder
- Always maintain a distance of two metres from your playing partners
- Don’t shake hands after your game
Fishing Procedures
- Only one person is permitted in the Sports Shop at any one time, and we ask that those waiting outside please follow social distancing guidelines of remaining one metre apart at all times
- We will have facilities for contactless payments, although cash will also be accepted.
- We have a Perspex screen fitted over the counter
- If there is a queue, please do not linger around the shop
- Do not share any equipment, such as fishing rods
- If you hire equipment from us then when you return it please leave it outside of the Sports Shop and let one of our team members know. We will then disinfect the equipment before the next customer.
- We have done additional Risk Assessments for our guests and our team members on Self-Catering Lodges, Golf, Fishing, Dining.
- In our toilets you will find sanitising stations with wipes and hand sanitiser.
- Our team have all been trained on COVID-19 safety and sanitisation protocols.
Lodge Procedures
Before you travel
You may want to pack:
- A face mask/covering – these are not mandatory for guests at our resort and it is a personal choice to wear one. We also have masks available in the resort.
- Disposable gloves if you like to use them.
- Travel hand sanitiser.
Please don’t travel if you have:
- A high temperature (37.8 degrees or higher).
- A new and continuous cough.
- Shortness of breath.
- Someone in your party ‘shielding’.
- Loss of taste or smell.
Check-In Ahead
To ensure a swift and safe check-in we will email you in advance of your stay with our check-in sheets, which include a map of the resort and some information on onsite discounts. We will call you in advance of your stay to take your security deposit. We won’t be able to offer any early check-ins or late check outs as we need to allow our housekeeping team maximum time to clean.
Your Arrival
Upon arrival at the resort, our Reception Team, wearing appropriate PPE (unless exempt), will greet you with a warm, socially distanced welcome and will give you your disinfected lodge keys. We will also talk you through our hygiene procedures and about how our facilities are currently, safely running.
Extensive Lodge Cleaning
You can be assured that every measure has been taken to ensure the cleanliness of your lodges. Not only have we introduced complete room disinfecting measures, but we have some new gadgets too! Our state-of-the-art fogging machines will be used to disinfected the whole lodge in between bookings. You will find a hand sanitising station at the entrance of each lodge. We have also removed certain gadgets and items, such as guest books, to reduce touchpoints.
Contactless Checkout
Finally, there will be no need for you to check out at reception as you can drop your keys off at our Key Drop Box outside the main reception.
We also ask that you kindly call reception when departing your lodge to allow our housekeeping to have the longest time possible cleaning the room before the next guest we are due to welcome arrives.

- Rigorous cleaning procedures. Our housekeeping team will be implementing enhanced cleaning procedures to disinfect all accommodation and common areas, to maintain strict hygiene standards.

Dining Procedures
Socially Distanced Dining & Public Areas
You can tuck in to some home-cooked food with our social distanced dining. This includes sitting out on our veranda, where you can enjoy some alfresco dining or just a sundowner or two.
We are also increasing the intensity of cleaning in all areas including The Scullery, The Cairn O’Mount bar and our Sports Shop.
We have hand sanitiser stations throughout our public areas, as well as signs to remind guests to socially distance. Our teams have been supplied with portable hand sanitisers and relevant PPE to ensure everyone’s safety.
Good to Go
We are delighted to confirm we have been granted VisitScotland’s ‘We’re Good to Go’ status. This shows our compliance with government and industry Covid-19 best practice, helping ensure public safety through cleanliness and efforts to aid social distancing.

Track and Trace
All guests visiting the resort must fill out a Track and Trace form to help contain the virus and reduce the spread of infection. A QR code will be given out to guests with a link to our online Track and Trace form.
